About Zypp Electric

The company, in brief.

What they do

Zypp Electric rents electric scooters and three-wheeler cargo loaders to delivery riders and to delivery companies. Its fleet does last-mile deliveries for apps such as Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy. It says that it has more than 25,000 vehicles. It also signs franchise partners who run Zypp fleets. Zypp started in 2018 as an e-bike sharing app.

What they value

  • Sustainability in everything they do, with a goal of zero emission.
  • Hiring for impact.
  • Resilient people who solve problems.
  • Passion and new ideas.
  • A drive to execute with excellence.
  • High ownership in each role.

Where they hire

All 18 open roles are in India and full-time. Six are in Gurugram, five in Mumbai, two in Chandigarh, and one each in Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The data analyst role says that it is work from office. No posting offers remote work. The postings do not mention the right to work or visa sponsorship.

Teams and roles

Most open roles run the fleet on the ground. There are no software engineering roles on the board.

  • Ground operations for scooters and three-wheelers: team leaders who find and sign up riders, cluster managers who supervise team leaders at delivery hubs, a city head in Chandigarh, and an assistant general manager for scooter operations in Bengaluru.
  • Fleet: a director of fleet operations who leads a team of more than 50, a spares lead, and two hub heads who manage repair and maintenance of electric scooters in Mumbai and Chennai.
  • Data and BI: a data analyst, a senior manager, and a data science intern, all in Gurugram.
  • Business development: a franchise sales manager who finds and signs new franchise partners across India.
  • Legal: a senior associate for contracts and compliance.
  • Recovery: a recovery agent in Hyderabad.

What they look for

Operations roles want people who managed large ground teams of riders or field staff. Two cluster manager roles ask for at least one year of managing blue-collar staff, three months in bike taxi or cargo work, and at least five direct reports. Many roles prefer experience in electric vehicles, logistics, or last-mile delivery. Ground roles often ask for good local knowledge of the city and its routes, in Mumbai or the Delhi region. Seven postings ask for skill with Excel or Google Sheets for reports. The data analyst role asks for SQL and Python, and both data manager and analyst roles prefer Tableau or Power BI. Hub head roles ask for a diploma or degree in automobile or mechanical engineering and three to seven years in vehicle service. Several postings ask for good written and spoken communication and for comfort in a fast startup. Two postings prefer people who can join at once. Most postings state a pay range in rupees.
