The SuperImpress scanner
If your logs show SuperImpress (+https://superimpress.com/bot), that’s us. Thank you for looking. Here is who we are, what we read, and how to reach us.
What SuperImpress is
SuperImpress helps people find roles at the companies they want to work for, and put together honest applications for them. Your careers page is how they find you, so we read it the way a careful candidate would: often enough not to miss a new role, and gently enough not to be a burden.
Candidates apply on your page
- We never submit an application, and never apply on anyone’s behalf.
- Every role we show links back to your own posting, and the candidate applies there, through your applicant-tracking system, like anyone else.
- What reaches you is an application a person chose to make. Their resume is built only from their own record, and we don’t invent claims.
What the scanner reads
Only the public job-board APIs of the hiring systems our catalog’s companies use, and only for those companies. Where a system gives each company its own address, that is only your company’s careers API. It sends nothing to any other host, and follows no redirect off the host it asked.
How often, and how politely
Each careers page is read once every six hours, however many of our users follow it. One request is in flight per host at a time. Where a system lists roles without their text, we ask for the list and then for each role, one at a time, never two at once.
When a host answers 429, the scanner waits a second, then twice as long each time after, and gives up for that pass after four tries. Separately, when we test a change, a check reads each page once to confirm it still answers, as superimpress-catalog-check (+https://superimpress.com/bot).
If you’d rather we didn’t
We hope this puts your mind at ease, and we’d be glad to talk it through. If you’d still prefer we stop, write to support@superimpress.com and we’ll take your company out of our catalog within two business days. The scanning stops, and your roles no longer appear to anyone on SuperImpress.
The same address is the one to use to report a problem, or to tell us the scanner is doing something it shouldn’t.
