Workato has offices in the US, Europe, Tel Aviv, Asia Pacific, Bangalore, and Chennai. Most postings do not state an office policy. Engineering roles in Europe work remotely across time zones. India roles are few and technical, in Hyderabad and Chennai.

Teams and roles

Backend work is in Go, with Ruby on Rails and Rust in parts of the platform.

• Connectors (Chennai): a senior Golang engineer builds connectors and REST and gRPC microservices on PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Genie (Europe): gateways and routing for AI chat and agent execution.
• Rust: new products and proofs of concept.
• Demo infrastructure (Hyderabad): automation engineers provision AWS, run CI/CD, and build on Workato. The entry-level role asks for Workato, MuleSoft, or Boomi.
• AI architecture (Hyderabad): a principal architect for agent memory, orchestration, evals, and a knowledge graph, with some travel.

Product management is at staff and director level in Palo Alto and San Francisco, on agents, evals, and developer tools.

What they look for

Engineering postings want people who propose ideas in problem areas and switch between projects with ease. Open-source contributions are a plus. The evals PM role wants someone who wrote evals and debugged agent failures. The site does not describe the interview steps. Some postings mention a technical interview in English.
