What they do
Udacity runs an online learning platform for technical skills such as AI, data science, and cloud computing. It sells Nanodegree programs, which are bundled courses, and shorter courses. It works with individuals, companies, and governments. Udacity is now part of Accenture.
What they value
- Be outcome obsessed: put customers and learners first and measure results.
- Embrace curiosity: keep learning, challenge norms, and debate openly.
- Take the lead: speak up, take risks based on data, and accept change.
- Celebrate the assist: work with respect and trust, and credit unseen work.
Where they hire
Most of the 24 roles are remote contract roles. Many mentor roles cover time zones in the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia-Pacific. Some roles are for people in India, the UAE, Argentina, Japan, or the US and Canada. One role is in San Francisco. US applicants must not need visa sponsorship, now or later.
Teams and roles
Udacity says it has more than 700 industry experts in its mentor network. Almost every role on the board is part-time contract work for learners in its programs. Many postings add people to a pool, and Udacity contacts them when a project starts.
- Technical mentors: AI, agentic AI (AI that acts on its own), Claude AI engineering, cloud, cloud DevOps, cybersecurity, and data. Mentors hold one-to-one video calls, technical deep-dive sessions, and group question sessions.
- Program mentors: business AI programs, product management, data product management, and software architecture.
- Session leads: two roles for India that lead student groups in application security and in risk and compliance programs.
- Content maintenance: on-call specialists in India and a generative AI specialist who fix code and update course material.
- Community moderators for India, the UAE, and the US and Canada, who give students non-technical help.
- Other roles: an SAP authorized trainer and a pool of mentors in Japan. An on-call video editor in Argentina works about 25 to 30 hours a week. An AI tech talk mentor role is in San Francisco.
What they look for
Technical mentors need five or more years in their field and an interest in helping others learn. They must be able to work part-time beside their current job. Session leads need two or more years in their skill area, fluent English, and experience teaching technical topics.
The generative AI content role asks for two or more years of Python. It also asks for LangChain or LlamaIndex, model APIs, vector databases, and RAG (retrieval of documents for an LLM). The AI tech talk role asks for three or more years in AI or software work and experience presenting to 20 to 200 people.
The SAP trainer must be in the SAP Authorized Trainer Program. The video editor must edit in Adobe Premiere. Mentors in Japan must finish the Mentorship Nanodegree and send a resume in English.
