About Trellis AI

The company, in brief.

What they do

Trellis builds AI agents that help patients get high-cost medicines. The agents read referrals and chart notes, check benefits, submit prior authorizations, and handle appeals. Customers are specialty pharmacies, infusion centers, provider groups, and health systems. Trellis serves patients in all fifty states. It is a spinout from the Stanford AI Lab, backed by YC and General Catalyst.

What they value

  • Take extreme ownership, and start new initiatives.
  • Work closely with the founding team and wear many hats.
  • Move fast and iterate quickly.
  • Build the playbook instead of following one.
  • Give every full-time teammate meaningful equity.
  • Keep recruiting human: Trellis does not use AI screeners.

Where they hire

All 15 Postings name San Francisco. Seven of them are also open as remote in the United States: four account executives, the GTM engineer, the sales development representative, and the RCM operations specialist. Even so, the sales development role must work in the San Francisco office. The other roles are on-site. The Postings say nothing about visa sponsorship.

Teams and roles

Engineering is 15 people in three pods: platform, deployed, and product. Trellis wants to double it by the end of the year.

  • Sales: four account executives, one each for specialty pharmacy and infusion, oncology, specialty provider groups, and health systems. Also a GTM engineer, a sales development representative, and a solutions consultant who builds custom demos.
  • Engineering: a director of engineering, the first security lead, a forward deployed engineer, and a product engineer. Forward deployed engineers build AI workflows, integrate with EHR systems, and work directly with clinical teams.
  • Deployment: a deployment strategist, a deployment operations specialist who keeps live agents running, and an RCM operations specialist who reviews infusion prior authorization and billing cases.
  • People: a contract recruiter, with a path to full-time work.

The stack includes TypeScript, Python, Next.js, React, Temporal, and AWS. Every full-time Posting states a pay range and offers equity.

What they look for

Several Postings ask for high ownership and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving startup. Many roles count healthcare, pharmacy, or revenue cycle experience as a plus. The account executives need five or more years of B2B sales, with three or more years carrying a quota. The security lead needs six or more years in security engineering. The solutions consultant, deployment strategist, and recruiter need three or more years, and the GTM engineer and deployment operations roles need two or more. The RCM role needs three or more years in infusion or specialty pharmacy revenue cycle, and no coding. The deployment operations and RCM Postings describe the interview steps, which include a take-home or case exercise.
