Synthesia hires in more than 26 countries, with offices in London and New York. Research and much of engineering are remote in Europe or hybrid from London. Some engineering and product roles are in Seattle. US sales roles are mostly hybrid in New York or Austin. Postings do not mention visa sponsorship.

Teams and roles

Engineering hiring is mostly senior, staff, and principal, at internal levels such as L6 and L7. Python is the main language.

• Research: human video generation with latent video diffusion models, real-time avatars, and voice-to-voice models. Postings ask for PyTorch and multi-GPU training with DDP, FSDP, or DeepSpeed.
• Data: curation of large video and audio datasets.
• ML platform: training and serving models on GPUs and Kubernetes.
• Also enterprise platform APIs, growth engineering, and security on AWS and GCP.

Many engineering roles expect AI-assisted development. Product managers are senior to principal. The largest share of roles is sales and customer work, with MEDDPICC and Salesforce.

What they look for

Synthesia wants applied research that ships to the product, and engineers who deliver features every few days. Engineering interviews have a recruiter call, a talk about past projects, and a practical coding round. The coding round is not Leetcode style and allows AI tools. Then come a system design talk and a leadership talk. The process can take two weeks.
