About Sweet Karam Coffee

The company, in brief.

What they do

Sweet Karam Coffee makes South Indian sweets, snacks, papads, pickles, masalas, filter coffee, and milk mixes. It sells them on its own site and app, on quick commerce platforms and marketplaces, and in retail shops. It also sells gift hampers and corporate gifts. It ships across India and to some other countries.

What they value

  • Food free from preservatives, maida, and palm oil.
  • Clean and simple ingredients, true to tradition.
  • The taste of home for people who are far from it.
  • Doing things the right way, even when no one is watching.
  • Showing what is good, not claiming it.
  • One consistent brand at every place a customer meets it.

Where they hire

All nine open roles are in or near Chennai, in Tamil Nadu. Seven are at the office in Ekkatuthangal, Chennai. Two warehouse and logistics roles are at Poonamallee. The graphic design internship says that the work is from the office. The postings say nothing about remote work, the right to work, or sponsorship.

Teams and roles

The board lists nine roles. Three are internships. There are no engineering roles.

  • Design: a design lead who owns all static design and leads four to five designers, a design executive who makes four to eight static ads and posts a day in busy periods, and a graphic design intern or fresher. The work covers social media, the website and app, catalogue images, packaging, and retail displays.
  • Warehousing and logistics: an inventory executive who runs stock counts, first-in-first-out storage, and work with third-party warehouse workers. A last-mile executive tracks vehicles and deliveries and works with drivers and delivery partners.
  • Customer experience: a customer experience intern who helps the support team across calls, email, chat, WhatsApp, and social media for three to six months. A second intern works on customer segments, data, automation, and uses of AI in customer and delivery operations.
  • Online channels: a category manager who owns the profit and loss of a category across the company's own site, marketplaces, and retail, and works on pricing, promotions, and new products.
  • Finance: a senior accounts receivable executive who reconciles customer ledgers, follows up on collections, and handles claims and deductions.

What they look for

Most roles prefer experience in packaged consumer goods (FMCG), food and beverage, direct-to-consumer brands, or e-commerce. The accounts receivable role states that FMCG experience is mandatory, and it requires Tally and Zoho Books. Excel or Google Sheets comes up in the warehouse, logistics, finance, and intern roles. The warehouse and logistics roles ask for two to four years and knowledge of ERP systems. Hindi is mandatory for the last-mile role. The customer experience internship needs fluent English and Tamil. The design executive and the graphic design intern need Photoshop and Illustrator, and must follow the brand rules. The design lead and the category manager need six to eight years. The internships take freshers and ask for curiosity and a willingness to learn. No posting states the pay, and none describes the interview steps.
