The company, in brief.
What they do
Sage Care makes AI-powered care navigation for health systems. Its AI voice agents handle patient calls and texts, triage, and scheduling. A clinical copilot gives staff protocol-based triage guidance. Its matching product fits patients to the right provider and reduces no-shows. Sage Care works with health systems across the U.S. and in the MENA region.
What they value
- Do good through serving people, with integrity, compassion, kindness, and optimism.
- Innovate with safety, evidence, and transparency.
- Lead with curiosity and kindness, and ask questions before making assumptions.
- We, not me: collaborate, with mutual respect and constructive feedback.
- Use automation and AI thoughtfully in all work.
Where they hire
All eight open postings are hybrid, at the headquarters in Palo Alto, California. The partner engineer role also spends time on site at health system partners. The postings do not mention visa sponsorship.
Teams and roles
Founders from Apple, Uber, and Carbon Health started Sage Care. General Catalyst and Chelsea Clinton back it, and it is a Series A company.
- Engineering: six roles. Software engineers build the AI agent systems and evaluations, and the real-time voice platform, which is moving to Rust. A DevOps engineer owns GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and Bazel builds. A knowledge routing engineer builds models that map symptoms to providers and urgency. An Epic integration engineer and a partner engineer connect Sage Care to hospital systems.
- Product: a founding product designer, who is the first full-time designer, and a product manager who owns agent quality and evaluation.
Every posting states a pay range, from $120K to $250K, with equity.
What they look for
Three engineering roles ask for five or more years of software engineering and strong backend skills. The AI systems role wants production AI agents or ML evaluation pipelines, and LLM applications. The voice role wants high-load, latency-sensitive systems and concurrency. The DevOps role asks for four to seven or more years, with GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform. The knowledge routing role asks for seven or more years of ML engineering. The Epic role wants Epic integrations as a third-party vendor, ideally 10 or more, and FHIR and HL7v2. The designer role asks for six or more years and a strong portfolio. The postings do not describe the interview steps.
