What they do
Riskified protects online merchants from fraud and from chargebacks. A chargeback is a payment that a card holder disputes and the bank takes back. Its AI platform looks at the person behind each order and gives a decision in real time. It also fights abuse of return and refund policies. Customers include Acer, Gucci, and GoPro.
What they value
- A collaborative work setting with great people.
- End-to-end ownership: every team member is empowered and accountable.
- High standards, ambitious goals, and the will to try new things.
- Collaboration and innovative thinking.
- Use of AI tools to work faster and better.
Where they hire
Most roles are in Tel Aviv, Lisbon, and New York. Other roles are in São Paulo, Melbourne, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Mexico City. The Tel Aviv, Lisbon, and New York teams work in a hybrid of remote and office work. No posting is fully remote. Two New York integration roles need US work authorization without visa sponsorship.
Teams and roles
Riskified is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Postings say that it has more than 750 people. Of the 38 open roles, 16 are in sales. The rest are in development, research, product, security, finance, marketing, and other teams.
- Development, in Lisbon and Tel Aviv: full-stack engineers build the Control Center app that merchants use, and a team that builds shared libraries for other teams. A backend team builds connectors to payment gateways and ecommerce platforms. An engineering manager leads a team that builds real time systems against refund and return abuse.
- AI engineering, in Lisbon: senior engineers build AI tools for the whole company, including an internal MCP server and RAG systems. MCP is a protocol that connects AI agents to tools. RAG feeds retrieved data to a language model.
- Research: data scientists build machine learning models. A staff data scientist leads the identity graph engine.
- Product: product managers work on fraud analytics, payments, and growth.
- Security: application security architects and a security engineer.
- Sales: account executives, sales and solutions engineers, presales architects, and partnership managers in many regions.
Lisbon postings and most New York postings give a base pay range. Postings say that all full-time employees get a bonus target and can get stock awards.
What they look for
Engineering roles often ask for a B.Sc. in Computer Science or the same level of experience. Senior engineering roles ask for five or more years. Full-stack roles ask for Node.js, and the senior one also asks for React. Backend roles name TypeScript, Scala, or Java. The engineering manager role asks for seven or more years of distributed systems and three or more years of managing engineers. The staff data scientist role asks for an M.Sc. or Ph.D. and six or more years of machine learning in production.
Five of the six development postings ask for AI coding tools, such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code, or name them as a plus. The fraud analytics product role asks for three or more years with data and analytics products. A background in fraud, risk, payments, or ecommerce is a plus in many roles.
