The company, in brief.
What they do
Remark makes an AI client advisor for elevated and luxury brands. The advisor brings the in-store experience online: product expertise, styling advice, and guidance from first question to purchase. Remark started as Outdoorly, a marketplace of outdoor product experts. Its advisor conversations became the training data for its AI.
What they value
- Aligned AI that avoids bias and harm.
- Customer-centricity.
- Inclusion.
- Privacy and security of personal data.
- Transparency with partners.
- Innovation.
Where they hire
Six roles are in Boston, Massachusetts, and one is in Denver, Colorado. The engineering and strategist roles are hybrid, with at least three days a week in the office. The product designer role is on site. No roles are remote. The strategist postings require United States residence. The other postings say nothing about visa sponsorship.
Teams and roles
Remark is hiring for seven roles in engineering, AI implementation, and design.
- Engineering: full-stack, frontend, backend, and machine learning engineers. The stack is TypeScript, with NestJS, Prisma, Bull, LangChain, and GraphQL on the backend and React and Next.js on the frontend. The machine learning and full-stack engineers report to the Chief Technology Officer.
- Machine learning: the engineer builds LLM pipelines and evals, and needs Python, JavaScript, and knowledge of prompt injection risks.
- AI implementation: strategists in Boston and Denver build each brand's advisor from contract to launch. They write prompts, design automations, and connect integrations. The pay is $85K to $135K base.
- Design: the product designer owns features from idea to visuals, and leads design for the Remark brand.
What they look for
Remark asks for ownership of projects from start to finish and the ability to work independently. The postings ask candidates to balance speed and quality, and to do well when things move fast. The full-stack, frontend, and backend roles ask for a degree in computer science or a related field. The strategist and designer roles ask for three or more years of experience. The postings ask for clear communication. Remark asks people to apply even if they do not match every line of the posting.
