The company, in brief.
What they do
Próspera creates special economic zones with their own laws, regulations, and taxes. Its first zone, Próspera ZEDE, is on the island of Roatán in Honduras. Próspera gives businesses a legal framework, a simple tax system, dispute resolution, and online government services. It also runs real estate and hospitality in the zone, such as the Las Verandas Hotel & Villas resort.
What they value
- Creativity, autonomy, and dedication at work.
- Create value: productivity is the purpose.
- Live free: live by reason and choose your own path.
- Trade voluntarily: every exchange is free and earned.
- Protect property: what you build is yours.
- Technological progress is good.
Where they hire
All four roles are full time in Roatán, Honduras. Two hotel roles are at Las Verandas in Pristine Bay. The operations role is on site in Roatán. The legal office manager role names Roatán but is remote, at about 30 hours a week. The postings say nothing about work permits or visa sponsorship.
Teams and roles
Próspera is hiring for four roles in legal, operations, and hospitality.
- Legal: the legal office manager keeps a register of legal matters and deadlines, sets priorities for the attorneys, and works with outside law firms. The role reports to the General Counsel.
- Operations: the operations supervisor runs daily operations at The Clubs. The role leads the housekeeping and front desk teams and works with food and beverage, kitchen, maintenance, and events.
- Hospitality: Las Verandas Hotel & Villas is hiring a front desk clerk and a waiter or waitress. The front desk clerk checks guests in and out and manages reservations. The waiter takes orders in the POS system and serves guests.
What they look for
Every posting asks for English. The legal and operations roles also ask for fluent Spanish, and the hotel roles count Spanish as a plus. The postings ask for strong communication and attention to detail. The hotel roles ask for the ability to work under pressure. Most roles ask for earlier experience in the same kind of work: more than five years in a law firm for the legal role, and two to four years in hospitality operations for the supervisor. The operations role asks for a bachelor's degree. The hotel roles ask for experience with POS systems, a professional appearance, and a focus on guest service. Each hotel posting asks staff to act as an ambassador of Las Verandas and Próspera.
