Paytm calls itself India's payment super app and India's largest payment company by users, merchants, payment transactions, and revenue. It started the mobile QR payments revolution in India. Its stated mission is to bring half a billion Indians into the mainstream economy through technology.

What they value

• Financial inclusion, written into the mission every posting repeats.
• Scale: postings name 100 million daily active users and sub-50ms APIs.
• Use of AI tools in daily work, which engineering postings ask for by name.
• Regulatory care, because the RBI and NPCI govern what the product may do.
• Small merchants, whom the QR and card machine teams sell to face to face.
• Working from an office, which 202 of the 205 postings state.

Where they hire

Every role is in India except nine. Noida holds 110 of them, then Mumbai, Bangalore, and Gurugram. Collections roles sit in about twenty more cities, from Patna to Vellore. Luxembourg, Dubai, Toronto, and Jakarta hold the rest. One posting is remote and two are hybrid.

Teams and roles

The board is mostly business, not engineering. Lending and lending collections alone hold 49 of the 205 postings.

• Lending and collections: area collections managers in named cities, plus risk, compliance, and portfolio roles for the loan book.
• Paytm Money: roles for the stock broking and wealth arm.
• Inference and Agentic AI: enterprise sales roles for the AI products, including ones in Dubai and Europe.
• Engineering: backend engineers and leads in Golang, frontend leads in React, an engineering manager, and platform and security roles.
• Product and analytics: product managers and analytics leads for UPI, user growth, and the app itself.
• Payments business: offline merchant teams for QR codes and card machines, bill payments, recharges, gold, travel, and insurance.
• Support functions: recruitment, talent management, procurement, accounting, legal contracts, and customer service.

What they look for

Backend engineering postings ask for Golang. A senior software engineer post asks for two to five years of server-side Golang. An engineering manager post asks for nine to thirteen years. Frontend postings name React, Redux, ES6, CSS or Sass, and Tailwind. Several engineering postings state that Paytm expects you to use AI tools for architecture design, code review, and prototyping. Analytics postings ask for seven to ten years and large-scale transaction data. Collections postings ask for delinquency bucket management and for leading on-ground and tele-calling teams. Risk postings ask for direct work with the RBI, the NPCI, and law enforcement.
