The company, in brief.
What they do
Pandorum Technologies is a tissue engineering and regenerative medicine company. It develops treatments for diseases of the cornea, the lungs, and the liver. Its main product, Kuragenx, is a liquid cornea made of exosomes and a biopolymer. An exosome is a small particle that cells release. The company started in 2011 and has labs in Bangalore and the USA.
What they value
- Accountability: each person owns their responsibilities and decisions.
- Respect: every person can share ideas, whatever their rank or degree.
- Continuous learning: education and new skills keep the science moving.
Where they hire
All 11 open postings are in India. Eight are in Bangalore, and three of them name Electronic City. Two are in Delhi. One, the Senior Director of Medical Affairs, lists both cities and travels in the UAE. The careers page offers a hybrid work model for some roles. The postings say nothing about the right to work or sponsorship.
Teams and roles
Most open roles are for research scientists. There are no software roles on the board.
- Biomaterials: three research scientist roles in Bangalore. They make polymer scaffolds with in-situ crosslinking and 3D bioprinting, and they characterize biopolymer products.
- Cellular engineering and exosomes: a senior scientist who develops the production and purification of extracellular vesicles, a senior scientist who builds cell-based assays and 3D tissue models, and a research scientist who cultures primary and stem cells.
- Organoid: an associate research scientist who builds human 3D organoid models for disease modelling.
- Eye research in Delhi: a research scientist who does cell biology and preclinical animal studies of corneal and retinal disorders, and an optometrist who does eye examinations for the clinical and research team.
- Medical affairs: a senior director who trains investigators, runs grading calibration, and owns the publication plan for a first-in-human study.
- Human resources: an assistant manager who runs recruitment from sourcing to onboarding.
What they look for
Most research roles need a PhD in a life-science field and three to six years of research after it. The senior biomaterials roles ask for seven to twelve years. Hands-on mammalian cell culture repeats across the postings, with methods such as qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, and fluorescence microscopy. Scientists also write SOPs, technical reports, manuscripts, patents, and grant proposals. The optometry role needs an optometry degree and two to three years of clinical work, and it does not take freshers. The HR role takes only candidates from pharmaceutical, CRO, or biotechnology companies. The medical affairs role needs a medical degree and more than ten years in medical affairs. The two newest senior scientist postings state a pay range of INR 2,500,000 to 3,000,000. Hiring has four steps: an application, a call with HR, two to three interviews, and a decision. Candidates usually give a technical presentation to the interview panel. Pandorum tries to decide within two to four weeks of the first interview.
