About Nearmap

The company, in brief.

What they do

Nearmap flies its own patented cameras on planes to capture aerial imagery. One AI model, trained on its own data, makes more than 130 property layers from that imagery. Insurers, governments, and architecture, engineering, and construction firms use it to assess property. Nearmap started in 2007. It bought Betterview in 2023, and itel, which prices building materials, in 2025.

What they value

  • Own it: hold yourself and others accountable.
  • Work it: do better work together.
  • Risk it: be fearless, curious, and committed.
  • Tell it: be honest and open when you communicate.
  • Love it: care about what you do and how you do it.

Where they hire

Of 38 Postings, 14 are in Lehi, Utah, and 12 are in Sydney. Eight are in Jacksonville, Florida, two in Warsaw, one in Arlington, Virginia, and one in Alliston, Canada. The board marks 15 Postings remote, 16 hybrid, and 7 on site. No Posting mentions visas, sponsorship, or the right to work.

Teams and roles

Sales and marketing has 11 of the 38 Postings.

  • Sales: account executives for insurance and for architecture and engineering firms, a vice president of government sales, and business development representatives in Lehi and Sydney.
  • Solutions engineers: a local government GIS role in Lehi and an enterprise role in Sydney.
  • Engineering: seven roles. Platform, cloud, AI platform, and machine learning engineers are in Sydney, a QA engineer is in Lehi, and two backend engineers are in a new Warsaw hub.
  • Finance: six roles in payroll, accounting, planning, and accounts receivable.
  • itel: six roles employed by itel, most of them in Jacksonville, such as building materials analysts and customer experience.
  • Product: four roles for insurance and government, such as an actuarial analyst and a regulatory affairs director.
  • People and culture has three roles, and customer success has one.

The machine learning team turns aerial imagery into property map data with Python and PyTorch. Its Posting says that agentic coding tools like Claude Code are a normal part of the work.

What they look for

Thirty Postings ask for communication skills. Twenty-seven ask for a degree or a professional qualification. Twenty-five name a minimum number of years, most often 5 or more. Twelve Postings name Salesforce, most of them in sales and customer roles. Five engineering Postings ask for Kubernetes or Terraform. The itel building materials analysts need a high school diploma and two years of related work, preferably in flooring, siding, or roofing.
