Most roles are in data, engineering, finance, risk, and product work for a regulated bank.

• Data: data scientists, machine learning scientists, and analytics engineers.
• Borrowing: credit risk and machine learning for lending.
• Risk and compliance: risk assurance and compliance roles for Monzo Europe in Dublin, Barcelona, and Madrid.
• Other teams: finance and tax, product design and user research, product management, marketing, financial crime operations, people, legal, and security.

What they look for

Many Postings ask for people who make data-informed decisions and care about customer outcomes. People must work well with stakeholders across the company, communicate clearly, and be comfortable with ambiguity. Data, finance, and risk roles often ask for SQL and Python. Backend roles ask for a strongly-typed language and an interest in distributed systems. Monzo invites people to apply even if they do not meet every requirement.

Most processes have three stages. For engineers, these are a first call, a take-home task or pair coding exercise, and a final interview with system design and behavioral parts. Monzo says it does not ask brain teasers. Monzo publishes guidelines on the use of AI in applications and interviews.
