What they look for

Warehouse postings are specific about the qualification and the systems. The operations supervisor posting in Hai Phong asks for education from college level in a related field and two to three years in warehouse operations, and says bonded warehouse experience is a plus. It names the systems by their initials, warehouse management and transport management, and asks for Microsoft Office and good written and spoken English. The duties are concrete: coordinate daily operations, monitor inbound, outbound, inventory, and productivity against customer and internal targets, supervise and train staff on standard operating procedures, resolve physical and system problems, review non-conformities, and propose improvements. It also prefers a candidate who lives near the warehouses or will move there, and lists the benefits, including 15 days of annual leave.
