What they do

Lyft runs a rideshare app for riders and drivers. Lyft Urban Solutions builds and operates bike-share and scooter-share systems in over 60 cities, such as Citi Bike in New York and BIXI in Montreal. Lyft also sells advertising in its app and on its bikes. It runs fleets of autonomous (self-driving) vehicles, and sells Lyft Business to companies.

What they look for

Software engineers ask for a CS degree or equivalent work. Senior roles ask for 5+ years, large backend systems that run across many machines, and Python or Go on a public cloud such as AWS. Machine learning and data science roles ask for 2+ years, Python, and A/B tests, which compare two versions of a product. Some prefer an MS or PhD. Firmware roles ask for 5+ years of C and C++ for small built-in devices. Senior ad sales roles ask for 10+ years of sales to media agencies and clients. Fleet associates need 1 to 2 years of hands-on automotive or fleet work and a US driver's license. Interns must graduate between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
