About Live Nation Entertainment

The company, in brief.

What they do

Live Nation Entertainment puts on live music and sells tickets for it. Its postings name three parts: Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts, and Live Nation Media and Sponsorship. Postings say Ticketmaster sells over 620 million tickets a year, Live Nation Concerts promotes more than 50,000 events a year for nearly 7,000 artists in over 40 countries, and 145 million fans attend.

What they value

  • The show itself, which postings describe as where tours are born and artists come to life.
  • A fun and upbeat work culture, which postings state directly.
  • Belonging. Postings say the company wants everyone to feel they belong and can thrive.
  • Unusual benefits, named as free concert tickets, dog-friendly offices, student loan reimbursement, and adoption and fertility support.
  • Outside recognition, which postings cite as Great Place to Work certification and a People Magazine listing.

Where they hire

Of 1,447 postings, the United States holds 1,367. San Bernardino holds 44, Orlando 35, Las Vegas 19, Beverly Hills 17, and New York 15. Other clusters sit in Mountain View, San Francisco, New Orleans, Nashville, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, and Philadelphia. Outside the United States, the United Kingdom holds 26, Canada 17, the Philippines seven, and Australia six.

Teams and roles

Venue work is almost the whole board, so most jobs are at a specific place on a show night.

  • Venue operations: 1,021 postings, by far the largest group. These are the people who run a venue, including stagehands, servers, and bar and front of house staff. Many are part time.
  • House of Blues venues: 175 postings, listed as their own group.
  • Finance: 42 postings, including senior roles such as a tax director for Latin America.
  • Marketing: 37 postings, plus 25 in sales and three in business development.
  • Concert operations: 18 postings. Tour operations holds 11, festival operations 10, live production five, and artist services five.
  • Administration: 18 postings. Ticketing operations holds 16.
  • Information technology and engineering: 15 and 14 postings.
  • Human resources: 10 postings. Product management holds seven, legal four, communications two, and the contact centre two.

What they look for

Venue postings are hired for the night, not the career. The stagehand posting at Irving Plaza in New York is part time and describes the venue and the culture before the task. Most of these roles ask for availability on evenings and weekends and for work on your feet, because that is when shows happen. Corporate postings are the opposite and name the discipline: the tax director posting covers Latin America from Houston. The company description at the top of each posting carries the current figures, and those figures differ between older and newer postings, so the most recent posting is the one to read for scale. Postings also list the benefits in detail, which is unusual for hourly venue work.
