About Lingo.dev

The company, in brief.

What they do

Lingo.dev is a localization engineering platform. Teams use it to measure translation quality, translate with LLMs, and proofread with native speakers. A team sets up localization engines that hold its glossary, brand voice, and model choice for each locale. Each translation gets a score against the team's own criteria before it goes live. Customers include Mistral, Solana, and Cal.com.

What they value

  • Lean team, full ownership: own systems end to end, and show what shipped at a Demo Day every Friday.
  • Love the craft: use the platform daily, and rewrite things that work if they can work better.
  • Be ready to be wrong: talk to customers directly, and change an assumption when real usage contradicts it.
  • Ship with AI: use Claude Code, MCP servers, and AI agents all day to write code, review PRs, and debug.
  • Manage yourself: notice when focus drifts, and ask for help.
  • Bring energy: positivity, grit, and drive matter as much as technical skill.

Where they hire

All three open postings are remote. The senior fullstack engineer role and the open application for ex-founders are open in Poland, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Portugal. The senior content engineer role is in the USA. Two postings ask for availability from 7 to 10 a.m. San Francisco time each day. The postings do not mention visa sponsorship.

Teams and roles

Lingo.dev calls itself a lean, international, remote team. All three postings are in the Core team.

  • Senior fullstack engineer: builds the web app, the open source CLI and webpack and Vite plugins, backend APIs, the PostgreSQL layer, integrations, and AI agents. Work runs in three sprints of roadmap work, then one cooldown sprint.
  • Open application for ex-founders: owns a product surface end to end, starts a new product line, or brings an idea that Lingo.dev missed.
  • Senior content engineer: owns blog posts, research articles, the changelog, the newsletter, social posts, SEO, and paid ads.

The stack includes Effect.ts, React, and Cloudflare Workers. No posting states a pay range. Each hire starts with a paid trial of four weeks to one month.

What they look for

The fullstack role asks for five or more years of TypeScript and Node.js, expert React, PostgreSQL, API design, and authentication systems. It also asks for a CS degree or equivalent and remote work experience. Both engineering postings want a real product that other people used, and daily use of AI coding tools. The content role wants published content that got traction, enough coding to automate a workflow, and daily use of Claude. It also wants SEO work from data in Ahrefs or Semrush and Search Console. The two engineering postings ask applicants not to use AI to apply. The fullstack interview is a screening call, live coding or a technical project, and a system design deep dive.
