The company, in brief.
What they do
Kestra makes an open-source orchestration platform. One engine runs data pipelines, IT automation, business workflows, and AI agents, in the cloud or on a customer's own servers. The engine and plugins are open source under Apache 2.0, and Kestra sells an Enterprise Edition and a Cloud Edition. More than 10,000 organizations use it. Kestra started in France.
What they value
- Quality: deliver a platform that meets the highest standards.
- Collaboration: build strong relationships with users, customers, and each other.
- User-centric: build Kestra around user feedback and the problems users hit.
- Transparency: be open and honest at every step.
Where they hire
Kestra is remote-first, and all seven open roles are remote. Three are in the United States, and one of them covers the East Coast. Two are listed for Europe: one is open from France or Germany, and the security role is also listed for India. One role is anywhere in France, and one is in Germany.
Teams and roles
Kestra has about 50 people in more than ten countries and plans to reach 100 in 12 to 18 months. Product, Engineering, and the founders are in Europe. Several open roles are the first of their kind at the company.
- Sales: an enterprise account executive for the US East Coast, with deals from $50K to more than $500K a year. An account executive in Germany sells to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. A senior business development representative builds the first outbound sales process from open-source usage signals.
- Customer Operations: the first field engineer in France, who joins a field engineering team in Europe, the US, and India. The role leads technical evaluations and helps large companies reach production.
- Engineering: the first dedicated security engineer, who does penetration tests and also writes the fixes. The stack is Java, TypeScript, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
- Marketing: a senior demand generation manager who reports to the Head of Marketing and runs paid, email, and event campaigns for enterprise accounts.
- Corporate Operations: a People and Talent lead, the first dedicated People hire, who reports to the two co-founders.
The board lists no product or design openings now.
What they look for
Most open roles are senior, and most ask for people who build their own methods with little structure. The sales roles want experience selling to technical buyers such as engineering, platform, and data teams. Account executives do not need to write code, but they must follow a technical conversation. The enterprise account executive and the security engineer need five or more years of experience, and the demand generation manager typically six or more. Experience with open-source or developer products helps in most roles. The business development and demand generation roles expect candidates to use AI tools. Four postings ask for fluent English. The field engineer also needs fluent French, and the account executive in Germany needs fluent German.
The hiring steps differ by role. The field engineer role has two conversations and no take-home exercise, with a decision in one week. The People role has three conversations and a decision in two weeks. The security role has four steps in two to three weeks, and one is a two-hour practical assessment at home.
