What they do

Jupiter is a money app for India. It offers a savings account, UPI payments, credit cards, personal loans, mutual funds, digital gold, and insurance. It also tracks spending across a user's bank accounts. Partner banks such as Federal Bank and CSB Bank issue the accounts and cards. It started in 2019, and 30 lakh Indians use it.

Almost every role is in Bangalore, and Jupiter also hires in Mumbai. The product role is in person, not remote. Some fraud roles work in shifts, and on weekends if needed.

Teams and roles

Most open roles are in risk and fraud. There are few engineering roles.

• Risk and fraud: fraud analysts who take fraud cases by call, email, and chat, and work with partner banks and the police. A senior manager leads a team of these analysts. A fraud risk analyst spends most of the time in data, on lending, cards, UPI, and savings. A risk analyst runs credit risk for unsecured loans.
• Engineering: a DevOps engineer (SDE 2) for AWS with Terraform and Kubernetes, and a security engineer for web and Android penetration testing and DevSecOps.
• Product: a product manager who owns a consumer product end to end, with no strategy, research, or launch team.
• AI and data science: an applied scientist who builds ML models for money recommendations.
• Also: a legal associate, a company secretary, and a customer support executive for fresh graduates.

What they look for

Jupiter wants owners who see projects through, and who like healthy conflict. Risk and fraud roles ask for SQL and Python, and experience in banking or fintech. The fraud risk analyst role prefers an IIT or NIT background or the same depth in data. The fraud analyst role for customers needs Hindi and English. The product manager must have shipped a consumer financial product personally, use AI every day, and write their own SQL. To apply, they send the product they shipped.
