See them all, freeThe company, in brief.
What they do
Intel designs and manufactures semiconductors. Its postings describe CPUs, networking chips called IPUs and DPUs, silicon photonics, and Intel Foundry, which makes chips for other companies. Intel Ireland runs wafer manufacturing in a high volume, highly automated plant.
What they value
- Great ideas happen when people feel supported, respected, and empowered.
- People come to Intel to do the best work of their careers.
- Technology creates lasting impact beyond business alone.
- Intel supports inclusion and diversity across 65 countries.
- Manufacturing work meets safety, quality, output, and cost targets.
- Teams adopt AI as a working tool through the whole verification flow.
Where they hire
Most open roles are in the United States. Hillsboro, Phoenix, and Austin hold the most, and Intel also hires in Santa Clara, Folsom, and Albuquerque. Outside the United States it hires in Leixlip, Guadalajara, Penang, and Bangalore. Only one role in the twenty read is virtual. The postings do not mention visa sponsorship.
Teams and roles
The board is mostly silicon engineering and factory work.
- CPU and SoC design: RTL design engineers, physical design engineers, out-of-order CPU architects, performance architects, front end methodology engineers, and compute and memory subsystem architects.
- Verification and test: pre-silicon verification engineers and senior design-for-test logic design engineers.
- Analog and photonics: analog mixed signal design engineers, analog layout design engineers, and silicon photonics quality and reliability engineers.
- Manufacturing: manufacturing technicians at trainee, early career, and experienced levels, chemical mechanical planarization engineers, module engineers, low yield analysis engineers on shift, and AutoTEM technicians.
- Software: middleware development engineers for Intel SHMEM, Intel MPI, MPICH, and oneCCL, application development engineers, and a database administrator who writes PL/SQL for factory data systems.
- Foundry and business: applications and solutions engineers for foundry customers, capacity and capital planning, accounting managers, and product managers for the data center.
What they look for
Intel asks for deep work close to the hardware. Architecture roles ask the candidate to define cache hierarchies and coherency models and to trade latency, bandwidth, scalability, and power against each other. Verification roles ask for verification plans, test benches, and simulation or formal property verification. Software roles ask the candidate to understand several levels of the communications stack and to optimize for low latency and high bandwidth. Foundry roles ask the candidate to work with customer design teams, IP providers, and EDA vendors. Manufacturing roles ask for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and they state that the work follows a monthly rotating shift pattern. Intel says it obtains the minimum qualifications through a combination of job experience, internship experience, or both. The postings do not describe the interview steps.
