About Honeycomb

The company, in brief.

What they do

Honeycomb makes an observability platform. Observability means seeing what software does while it runs in production. The platform covers tracing, logs, metrics, frontend data, and AI agents. It also has Canvas, a workspace where AI agents help engineers study their systems. An ops engineer and a developer started the company about 10 years ago.

What they value

  • Fast and close to right is better than perfect.
  • We hire adults: take care of yourself, and give and get help.
  • Everything is an experiment: test with purpose and share the results.
  • Feedback is a muscle that grows with practice.
  • Act with autonomy and ownership, and put impact over output.

Where they hire

All 15 Postings are remote. Eleven are in the United States, two in Ireland, and two in the United Kingdom. Honeycomb is fully distributed and will not ask people to return to an office. Every Posting says that Honeycomb cannot sponsor visas or support visa transfers now. Every new hire must show that they can legally work.

Teams and roles

The board lists 15 open roles.

  • Sales (9): enterprise and strategic account executives in the US, UK, and Ireland, a sales director for the West, and a solution architect.
  • Engineering (4): senior engineers for AI agents in Canvas, LLM observability, and storage, and a manager for the engineering enablement team.
  • Finance and accounting (2): a payroll manager and a financial analyst.

Engineers work in Go, and the LLM observability role also uses React and TypeScript. Engineering teams share an on-call rotation. US base pay for engineers is $183,340 to $206,000. Sales roles give OTE (base pay plus expected commission), from $275,000 to $450,000 in the US. Pay is set on San Francisco rates, wherever you live.

What they look for

Every sales role asks for years of enterprise SaaS (software as a service) selling, with multi-stakeholder deals and strong executive presence. Account executives need 5 or more years, or 7 or more for senior roles. They must close deals of $500,000 or more. Experience in DevOps, observability, or cloud infrastructure is a plus. Engineering roles ask for end-to-end ownership, time in production systems, and mentoring. Several Postings ask for clear communication.
