What they do
GetYourGuide is a marketplace for travel experiences: tours, activities, and attractions booked in advance. Its postings say millions of people use it for activities they can trust, and describe the mission as changing the way the world travels. The headquarters is in Berlin, with offices from New York to Bangkok. Suppliers are the local operators who run the activities.
What they value
- Making a journey extraordinary, which postings extend to the employee's own.
- Trust in the marketplace, which the reviews team exists to protect.
- Suppliers succeeding, not only being supported, which one team is being renamed around.
- Comfort with ambiguity and experimentation, named as the culture engineering managers must build.
- Local language in commercial roles, which sales postings put in the title.
Where they hire
Of 53 postings, Berlin holds 37, so most of the board is at the headquarters. Zurich holds four. Amsterdam, San Francisco, Bangkok, and New York hold two each, and Paris one. No posting is remote. Sales postings name the market they cover, such as DACH, French speaking, or the Nordics, even when the desk itself sits in another city.
Teams and roles
Commercial and engineering are the two largest groups, and the rest of the company is small.
- Sales: 12 postings, the largest group. These are account executives who sign and grow the local operators who supply the experiences.
- Engineering: 10 postings, including engineering managers.
- Marketing: eight postings.
- Product and design: seven postings.
- Business operations and strategy: four postings.
- Finance and legal: four postings.
- People: four postings, including a people operations specialist for Asia and the Pacific based in Bangkok.
- Care: three postings, which support travellers and suppliers.
- Content management, merchandising, and localization: one posting.
What they look for
Commercial postings name a language and a market in the job title, such as account executive for DACH in German or for France in French, so fluency is the first filter. Operations leadership postings describe the teams you would inherit: the supplier enablement posting lists three of them by name, covering daily supplier support, inventory acquisition practices, and support for APIs and connectivity partners, and says the job is to turn an operations function into a supplier success function. Engineering manager postings state the team size plainly, such as six to seven engineers across backend and frontend from junior to senior, and ask you to own hiring and performance management and to partner closely with a product manager on the roadmap.
