About Eka Care

The company, in brief.

What they do

Eka Care makes health software for doctors, hospitals, patients, and developers in India. EkaDoc is an EMR, software that holds the patient records of a clinic. EkaScribe turns a spoken consultation into a prescription and clinical notes. Eka PHR is an app where patients keep their health records. EkaAgents are voice and chat agents, and developers get health APIs.

What they value

  • Inclusive: we do not discriminate.
  • Authentic: you can trust us.
  • Ambitious: to solve from the ground up.
  • Clinical judgement sits at the centre of how products are designed.
  • Open-source the work where it counts.

Where they hire

Of 24 open postings, 21 list Bengaluru and three list no place. Two of those three name Bengaluru in their text, and the customer support role is work from home. Many postings say on-site or in-office. Some roles work six days, with Saturday from home. The postings say nothing about the right to work or sponsorship.

Teams and roles

The largest group of openings is in data science, and it trains the company's own medical language models.

  • Data science: ML engineers and research engineers for pre-training and post-training of large language models, and an engineer for GPU kernels and fast inference. The Parrotlet family of medical models serves doctors in India, and the team publishes weights and technical reports.
  • Engineering: backend engineers who build EkaScribe's audio and LLM pipeline and agent systems in Python, and a frontend architect for the web products in TypeScript and React. A technical program manager runs five or six enterprise programs for Eka Agents at one time.
  • Product: product managers for EkaScribe, EkaAgents, and the AI products. They work with data scientists and build the evaluations that keep the products safe.
  • Medical affairs: a senior medical officer on a five-month contract who leads clinical evaluation of AI systems, and a two-month internship for MBBS students who curate medical datasets.
  • Sales and customer success: a technical sales manager for ABDM Connect, an inside sales specialist, a customer success manager, a product trainer for doctors, and a customer support executive on live chat.
  • Also: a marketing associate, an AI video producer, a corporate finance intern, and an HR intern in talent acquisition.

The inside sales and customer support roles are on third-party payroll.

What they look for

Engineering, product, and program roles ask for hands-on work with LLMs: prompts, tool calling, agents, retrieval, and evaluations. Backend roles want Python, system design, and services that the candidate ran in production. The ML roles want training or fine-tuning of models with a billion parameters or more, and the junior ML roles also take fresh graduates who code very well. Many postings ask for ownership from start to finish. Healthcare experience is a plus in many roles, and the technical sales role requires it. The medical roles need a medical degree: MBBS for the internship and the EkaScribe product manager, and an MD in internal medicine for the senior medical officer. The customer success manager and the product trainer need English and Hindi. Most roles ask for one to six years of experience. Open-source work is a bonus in ML and engineering roles. The postings do not describe the interview steps.
