What they do

Decentro makes APIs and SDKs for banking, payments, and identity. Companies use them for payment collections, payouts, escrow, ledgers, and KYC. Decentro calls itself "AWS for financial services." One entity in the group is an online payment aggregator that the RBI authorized. Y Combinator backs Decentro. It processes over $4 billion in payments for customers in India and Singapore.

Where they hire

All 10 Postings are in India. Seven are in Bangalore and three are in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. No Posting is remote, but the careers page calls Decentro work-from-home friendly. Decentro also has offices in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. The Postings say nothing about the right to work or visa sponsorship.

Teams and roles

The board is small and has many early-career roles. The careers page lists the stack as Python, Flask, Gunicorn, MySQL, Nginx, React, Kong, and AWS.

• Backend engineering: a Software Development Engineer and a Senior SDE design new banking API modules, REST APIs, databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Data: a Data Engineer builds pipelines for payments, KYC, risk, ledgering, and reconciliation.
• Reliability: a Site Reliability Engineer runs payment infrastructure on AWS, improves observability, and joins on-call rotations.
• Quality: a Junior QA Engineer does manual, regression, and API testing.
• Security: a Junior Security Operations Executive in GIFT City watches alerts from tools such as SIEM, EDR, and firewalls.
• Product: an Associate Product Manager tracks product metrics and release quality. A Product Operations / Implementation Intern in GIFT City helps customers with API integrations.

What they look for

Most roles ask for little experience. The Associate Product Manager needs 0 to 1 year, and the Junior QA Engineer needs 0 to 3 years. Backend engineers need 1+ years (SDE) or 3+ years (Senior SDE) of Python, PHP, Node JS, or Ruby on Rails. They also need database design, a framework such as Flask or Laravel, unit tests, Git, and clean, documented code. The Data Engineer needs 4 to 7 years of Python and SQL. The Site Reliability Engineer needs 2 to 4 years with AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Finance Interns study B.Com, BBA, CA (Inter), or CMA (Inter) and know GST, TDS, and Excel. Almost every Posting asks for good communication, problem solving, and a willingness to learn. Most say that experience in fintech, payments, or banking is a plus.
