About Cyberhaven

The company, in brief.

What they do

Cyberhaven makes data security software for companies that use AI. Its Flow platform traces data from its origin through every copy and paste, by people and by AI agents. This trace is called data lineage. With it, the platform stops leaks to USB, email, personal cloud, and AI tools. It covers data loss prevention and insider risk.

What they value

  • Act boldly: set high standards and make confident decisions.
  • Innovate to win: take smart risks and learn quickly.
  • Earn trust every day: secure systems, reliable work, and openness.
  • Prioritize and execute: own what matters most and move with urgency.
  • The tracer mindset: curious, intentional, and human.

Where they hire

The board marks 31 of its 32 roles as remote. Remote roles name US states and cities, the UK, Mexico, India, and EU countries such as Romania, Poland, and Portugal. Engineering roles are in Bangalore, India Remote, and EU Remote. Some Bangalore and Bay Area roles are hybrid. The Postings say nothing about visa sponsorship.

Teams and roles

Five PhDs from EPFL founded Cyberhaven in 2016. Its hubs are Mountain View, the headquarters, and Denver, Austin, Bangalore, Romania, and Switzerland. Investors such as Khosla and Redpoint back it with $250M. The board lists 32 roles in five teams:

  • Development: 12 roles. Most are senior and staff backend engineers in Go, for cloud APIs, data processing, content processing, and AI security. Others build the macOS endpoint sensor, a network proxy, the React console, and cloud infrastructure. The team also has a chief of staff and a director of program management.
  • Sales: 11 roles. Most are enterprise and mid market account executives for US regions and the UK. Others are solutions engineers, a sales development representative, and a technical enablement manager.
  • Customer Experience: 6 roles. These are data protection analysts and their manager, a professional services engineer, and a technical account manager.
  • Product: a senior product manager in Europe and a senior director of product design.
  • Support: a technical support engineer.

Most US Postings give a pay range, and many include equity.

What they look for

Backend engineering Postings ask for 4 or more years, and some ask for 5 or more. They want hands-on Go. Some accept Python, Java, or Rust. Cloud API roles want distributed systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure. The Staff role wants experience with AI agents and MCP, a standard that connects AI agents to tools. The macOS role wants Swift and the Endpoint Security framework. The frontend role wants 6 or more years with TypeScript and React. Engineering Postings ask for good written and spoken English to work with teams in Europe, India, and the US.

Enterprise account executives need 8 or more years selling cybersecurity software in their region, with data loss prevention preferred. Data protection analysts need 3 or more years with data protection products. Solutions engineers need 7 or more years in pre-sales.

The careers page lists the hiring steps: an application, a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, one or two interview rounds, references, and an offer. Cyberhaven says it uses AI tools for scheduling and note taking, and candidates can opt out of AI note taking.
