A distributed systems engineer role asks for 3+ years of backend or systems work, production operations, and on-call duty, and about a third of engineering Postings mention on-call work. Security roles ask for 4 or more years in offensive or application security, with knowledge of AI attacks. Solution engineers need experience in a customer-facing technical role, a quota mindset, and sometimes fluency in a second language. Account executives need 5 or more years of technical sales, with long and complex sales cycles and a basic knowledge of how the Internet works. An engineering manager role asks for a record of leading and growing teams. Many Postings ask for curiosity and comfort in a fast pace.
