About Benevity

The company, in brief.

What they do

Benevity makes software that companies use to run giving, volunteering, grants, employee groups, and social impact reports. Its Enterprise Impact Platform puts these tools in one place. Nearly 1,000 enterprise companies use it, including most of the Fortune 100. Benevity started in Calgary, Canada, in 2008. Donations through it reached $16.6B.

What they value

  • Purpose and profit: Benevity is one of the first B Corporations in Canada.
  • Belonging: diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are part of its DNA.
  • Do good at work: it matches donations and rewards volunteer time.
  • Trust: no set office days, and people decide when to meet in person.
  • Growth: leadership training and ongoing learning for its people.
  • Rest: vacation starts at four weeks for everyone.

Where they hire

The 23 open roles are mostly in Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto. Most are hybrid, with no set number of office days. One sales role is remote in the UK. One product marketing role is open in several US places, and another can be remote in Canada. No posting mentions visa sponsorship.

Teams and roles

Benevity has 742 employees, who call themselves Benevity-ites. Hg, an investor, put money into the company in 2020. Many roles appear twice on the board: once for Calgary or Vancouver, and once for Toronto.

  • Marketing, 9 postings: senior product marketing managers, a demand generation manager, and senior client education managers. Others are external communications managers and proposal writers on a 12-month term.
  • Sales, 3 postings: an enterprise account executive in the UK and go-to-market operations analysts.
  • Technology, 2 postings: software development managers who lead several teams. The teams work on developer experience, the software development life cycle, and core features such as financial services.
  • Technology Operations, 1 posting: a security architect.
  • Operations, Finance, People and Places, and Client Success, 8 postings in all: Salesforce administrators, a director of revenue FP&A, and an executive assistant. FP&A is financial planning and analysis. A learning specialist runs the week-long new hire program. Client technical support specialists work on a term.

The Toronto postings and the demand generation posting give a pay range in Canadian dollars. Every employee gets stock options.

What they look for

Most postings ask for a set number of years. Examples are three or more for demand generation, and five or more for enterprise sales and proposal writing. Security architecture asks for six to eight or more, and FP&A asks for eight or more.

Many go-to-market and operations roles want Salesforce, and two also name HubSpot. The software development manager role wants hands-on software development with AI agents and AI assistants, experience leading several cloud engineering teams, and enterprise SaaS work. The security architect role asks for AWS and GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

About ten postings ask for comfort with AI tools at work. Client support and proposal roles value experience with B2B SaaS, nonprofits, or workplace giving.
