The company, in brief.
What they do
Autonomous Technologies Group (ATG) is an applied AI research lab that puts reasoning systems to work in financial markets. Its product, Autonomous, is an AI financial companion and wealth manager. It learns a person's whole financial life and guides their decisions. Autonomous is a registered investment adviser with the US SEC.
What they value
- High agency, talent density, and zero bureaucracy.
- User delight: clean, intuitive, responsive experiences.
- Speed with quality: ship fast without cutting corners on reliability.
- High impact: focus on features that matter to users.
- Collaboration: work directly with the founders in a flat, high-trust team.
- Build from first principles.
Where they hire
ATG is headquartered in New York City. All seven open roles are hybrid, in New York City and San Francisco. The postings do not mention visa sponsorship.
Teams and roles
ATG says it is building a small, elite team of repeat founders. The founders built an early GPU cloud and sold it. Garry Tan and Y Combinator led its funding. The board lists seven roles.
- Engineering: six roles. A research scientist does original research on models and algorithms for reasoning. Members of technical staff work in research engineering, backend, full stack, iOS, and the data platform. The iOS engineer builds the first ATG iOS app. The data platform engineer builds a data lake of financial and market data for researchers and AI agents.
- Go-to-market: a client director who brings in new clients and guides them through onboarding.
Every posting gives a pay range, and all include equity.
What they look for
Every posting asks for skilled or daily use of AI tools. Engineering roles name coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex. Research roles want deep learning or reinforcement learning, and strong Python with PyTorch or JAX. The research scientist needs a track record of AI research, such as papers or open source work.
The backend, full stack, and iOS roles each ask for three or more years. The backend role wants Python and a systems language, such as Go, Rust, or C++. The full stack role wants React or Next.js. The data platform role prefers experience with financial data.
The client director must have served wealthy clients at a private bank, investment adviser, or family office. The role needs the Series 65, or the Series 7 and 66. The postings do not describe the interview steps.
